This last weekend Jill and I got to do something a little different than our normal shooting. We got a chance to spend all day being inspired by hundreds of track and field athletes from over 30 Washington State schools! Jill was a track athlete, so she was feeling right at home and knew what to expect. I was never a track and field athlete though, so the whole scene was new to me.
I was totally inspired by these youth – I put a post up about it on the A.Lorae Photography Facebook page already. All day long we got to capture photos of youth who are not only building their physical strength, but their emotional and mental toughness. I love sports for that reason. It’s not the only vehicle for that growth, but it is a great one.
I want to tip my hat to Duane Lee, the Lincoln High School Track and Field Head Coach, and his staff who put on a great event and asked us to photograph it. I also want to thank all of these amazing athletes that allowed us to capture their photos. Enjoy!
