This year I thought I would break out the family, kid, and newborn photos from the wedding photos. We photographed quite a few more families and newborns than we have in the past. A lot of that is due to many of our wedding and past family photo clients recommending us to friends and family, so a BIG shout out and thank you to those of you who recommended A.Lorae Photography this year.
I know that people often dread family photos. I liken it to when I was younger and we would fight about getting out the door to church. Usually families arrive a bit frazzled – you’ve been trying to get everyone out the door, dressed into clothes that they don’t necessarily want to wear, hair and (sometimes) makeup perfect.
My hope is that after you do a family photo shoot with me, everyone in the family is willing to give it another shot in a year or two when you want to do the next one. Hopefully it’s been painless, and maybe even fun. Most of all, I hope that you have photos that the whole family loves and can be proud of for years to come. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to get all of the holiday cards at the end of the year to see which photos you chose to use.
Thank you to all of you who gave me the privilege of photographing your family this year. It’s so cool to see your families growing – kids being born, kids getting older, parents getting better with time. I look forward to many more photos over the years! Happy 2019!
